August 9 - The Milky Way

This summer, the James Webb telescope showed us images of our galaxy, the Milky Way, like we've never seen it before. To help talk us through what we see in those pictures and what kinds of amazing things scientists are learning about the Milky Way, we'll be joined on Tuesday, August 9, by astronomer Farhad Yusef-Zareh. We'll chat about his work with the giant radio telescope MeerKAT, his upcoming projects using the Webb telescope, and the focus of his research: the black hole at the center of our galaxy.

We'll be indoors so we can look at pretty space pictures up on the projector, so remember to bring your mask and your proof of vaccination! Buy tickets here.
